P.A.D.S. (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) emergency church sites for those who are homeless are open Oct. 1- April 30th each year. Every night from 7pm -7am, these sites alternate at seven McHenry County churches. Each site offers a warm evening meal, a safe place to sleep, breakfast in the morning, case management and hospitality.
St. Elizabeth P.A.D.S. Ministry coordinates and provides volunteers for the
emergency site at Cary United Methodist Church on the 4th and 5th Saturdays of the month, beginning the month of October until the end of April. Volunteers are needed to assist with meal preparation, a 4 hour shift supervision of guests, laundry or clean-up. For more information and to volunteer, please contact our P.A.D.S Ministry volunteer coordinator.
